It has become more and more popular to provide some bits and bobs in the evening. Things like…

  • Hog roast. A great way to feed the masses especially if you have had an early wedding breakfast and/or are having loads of evening guests.
  • Photo booths. Your guests don various items of fancy dress, get into the booth and have their photo taken. A bit like you used to when you were kids in the passport photobooth. Some booths I have seen are a bit rubbish. One was great. Ask me and I’ll tell you which one 😉
  • Video booth. Like the photo booth but with video and sound. Your videographer might do this for you but a booth is better as it feels less embarrassing.
  • Inflatable guitars. They help even the most reluctant dancers.
  • Paper facemasks of famous people. Nelson Mandella enjoying a pint at your wedding? Quality.
  • Thai lanterns. You light a heat source at the bottom, the lantern fills with hot air and they float away into the night sky. Obviously it has to be dark. They got some bad press recently as several fires were started accidentally this summer as these lanterns landed in tinder-dry fields. Ooops.
  • Karaoke. Yes, it’s making a bit of a come back and not a moment too soon.
  • At one really great wedding this summer the hotel provided table tennis, a ‘nearest the pin’ golf competition from the bar terrace and ferret racing. What’s not to like?
